• Completion of the OPT100: Introduction to Optical Technology v3.0 Course or equivalent knowledge.
• Knowledge of switching, routing and layer 2 technologies such as Ethernet, SONET/SDH, ATM, etc.
• Knowledge and experience with IP services and protocols including Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS).
• Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and Cisco NX-OS network operating systems.
• Understanding of optical design concepts, including long-reach optics, spans and amplifiers, regeneration, wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and optical path protection.
• Working knowledge or understanding of Cisco ONS 15454 Series Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP).
