Disciplined Agile® Coach (DAC) Course Overview

The Disciplined Agile® Coach (DAC) course is an advanced, comprehensive training program that teaches professionals the best practices in providing coaching services to Agile teams.
The primary focus of the DAC course is on defining a mentor’s role inAgile coaching and developing practical skills to bring out better performance from the team. The course helps equip Agile coaches and mentors with the technical knowhow and skills required to work together with the team, identify risks and opportunities, evaluate progress and teach Agile principles.
The DAC course provides an overview of concepts and tools commonly used in Agile coaching and illustrates how these can be applied in an Agile team environment. It also offers a practical approach for coaching with a focus on creating value for the team and organization. The course includes an in-depth discussion on the Agile mindset and how to build an agile culture. The rigorous training program is validated by an exam which attendees must pass in order to gain the credential.

Disciplined Agile® Coach (DAC)
Course Prerequisites

• Previous experience teaching agile and team-based approaches
• Completion of a Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) or SAFe course or equivalent experience applying DAD practices
• At least two or three years of experience in agile methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban
• Familiarity with agile values, principles, and practices
• Awareness of DevOps and Lean principles
• Must hold the PMI-ACP or equivalent certification or equivalent demonstration of expertise
• Formal training in both classroom-based and virtual instruction is preferred

Target Audience

The primary target audience for Disciplined Agile® Coach (DAC) training is individuals who wish to become certified as a Disciplined Agile Coach
This includes experienced agile coaches, experienced change agents and practitioners who wish to become trained and certified by the Disciplined Agile Consortium
Participants should have a strong understanding of agile principles, practices, and theory, as the training is tailored for experienced agile coaches
The training is designed to teach new coaches how to effectively introduce disciplined agile practices into an organization and teach coaches effective techniques for helping organizations become agile
The ideal candidate would have significant organizational change experience, have a degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as software development, or have completed other agile-related certifications such as a Certified Scrum Master or a Certified Scrum Professional

Learning Objectives of Disciplined Agile® Coach (DAC)

The Disciplined Agile® Coach training enables participants to help others to achieve organizational excellence through the introduction of agile principles, processes and practices. This course provides a solid foundation of tools and best practices that can be used to coach and/or mentor people to deliver high value solutions with speed and agility. During this training, sessions are devoted to explaining and applying these processes in order to better understand how to effectively guide and coach agile teams in real-world environments.
