What is the Difference Between Stats and Transaction Commands?
The transaction command is useful in two areas. Two transactions are not identified by unique id anymore. In this case, the identifier is re-used to identify web sessions. Usually, stats command is used in a distributed search environment as it performs better. If a unique id is the identifier, stats can be used.
What are Buckets and Splunk Bucket Lifecycle?
Splunk data has to follow a flow once it gets old so they stores indexed data in different directories. These directories are termed as buckets. Which contains events of a certain period. The Lifecycle of a bucket is shown below.
