RPA, also known as Robotic Process Automation, is a software technology developed with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning technology, which designs Robots (bots) that helps in carrying out easy day-to-day tasks independently without any human interference. It does it’s assigned work independently, which previously required humans to perform manually.

Challenges Occurred While Implementation of RPA
As interesting, creative, and straightforward it may sound, many organizations face a lot of challenges while implementing RPA, which are discussed below-
-
Picking up the wrong RPA tool- RPA is a giant bubble, and wrapped under it are various tools that a business can implement accordingly. The most common challenge faced by the organization is picking up the wrong RPA tool and realizing it later. This results in a loss of time and investment for any business. This is the most common challenge face by companies in RPA implementation
-
Managing Employee’s perspective and Co-ordination- Many times, employees have a view in mind that robots are going to take over their jobs. At this stage, the company must make its employees understand about the RPA and what all tasks could it function and what tasks it cannot. Also, it is crucial to train the company’s employees from time to time for upping their skills regarding the RPA.
-
Technical Challenges- It is often observed that RPA is unable to generate the expected results due to lack of knowledge or co-ordination or volatility of the respected staff. While giving the training of RPA in any company, if the operational team is not concerned or lacks focus, the whole process is bound to go for a spin.
-
Hiring skilled professionals- It is necessary for any company to hire only those who have a proper skillset in the RPA concepts and tools. If there is a shortage of skilled RPA professionals, then many processes that are in dire need of automation will hit a major roadblock.
-
Structuring teams- Structuring teams and allotting tasks is of crucial importance. It is necessary to specify the roles and responsibilities to each team member to avoid future confusion and also helps in not sharing the data with multiple projects or outside of the team.
-
Clarity- It is critical for a company and even it’s employees to have clarity for their outcomes through RPA. If it lacks clarity, it would not be easy to analyze how RPA has benefited their business.
-
Infrastructure- Infrastructure plays a vital part in the implementation of RPA. If a company lacks infrastructure, be it inter-connected systems or cloud infrastructure, it may result in the downfall of time, money, and hard work of the employees ultimately.
-
Maintenance- Even though this step occurs post-implementation of RPA, it is yet a challenge as it is neglected or not given vital importance by the company. The company must keep its RPA maintained and updated from time to time. This ensures the smooth sailing of the RPA itself without causing any hurdles in between.
Conclusion
RPA software robots can be seen as a means to cut down on time and cost and increase ROI for the company. It helps the company and its employees to focus on more critical tasks. However, to achieve this kind of efficiency in work, it is essential to overcome all the challenges mentioned above. Overcoming these challenges would result in the success of implementing RPA in the company.
