Appium is an open-source, cross-platform mobile automation tool that enables automating native, hybrid, and web apps on both Android and iOS platforms. This powerful tool can be used to automate the UI and the functional aspects of mobile applications.
This course begins with a brief overview of the Appium architecture, followed by a deep dive into setting up the execution environment for both Android and iOS applications. You will learn about the various elements that comprise an Appium test framework, as well as how to write a basic Appium test. You will also learn about the various types of test automation frameworks and how they are implemented.
The course covers topics such as using locators, utilizing Appium mobile driver methods, incorporating mobile gestures, debugging applications with the Appium Inspector, debugging the application in the Android Device Monitor, and working with different frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber and TestNG.
You will also learn about automated testing on mobile devices, including mobile device hardware, simulator and emulator capabilities, hardware differences between Android and iOS, and the differences in the software development kit (SDK) for each platform.
