HCIA-Access Course Overview

HCIA-Access Course Overview

The HCIA-Access course is a comprehensive training program designed to equip learners with a deep understanding of access network technologies and their evolution. It covers various modules from the basics of network communication to the principles of advanced access technologies such as GPON and xDSL. Throughout the course, participants will delve into the PON system, explore VLAN technology, and understand routing fundamentals. They will also gain hands-on experience with GPON OLT and ONU operations, and learn about network management systems (NMS) such as eSight and iManager U2000.

Learners will benefit from practical insights into configuring data services, understanding DHCP and PPPoE protocols, and maintaining optical distribution networks (ODN). The course will also guide them through the transition from GPON to XG(S)-PON, highlighting the technical principles and typical networking scenarios. By completing the HCIA-Access course, participants will be well-prepared to design, implement, and manage modern access networks, paving the way for a successful career in the field of network engineering.

This is a Rare Course and it can be take up to 3 weeks to arrange the training.

Course Prerequisites

To ensure that you can successfully undertake training in the HCIA-Access course, the following minimum prerequisites are recommended:

  • Basic understanding of computer networks, including familiarity with network topologies and network devices such as routers and switches.
  • Knowledge of the OSI model and an understanding of its layers, particularly the physical, data link, and network layers.
  • Familiarity with the TCP/IP protocol suite and the function of key protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, and ICMP.
  • Awareness of Ethernet standards and operation, including concepts related to switching and VLANs.
  • An introductory level of knowledge about IP addressing and subnetting.
  • Basic familiarity with command line interface (CLI) operations, which is helpful for configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
  • Understanding of the principles behind WAN technologies and access networks, although specific knowledge of PON or xDSL technologies is not a strict prerequisite, as it will be covered during the course.

These prerequisites are intended to provide a solid foundation for understanding the concepts taught in the HCIA-Access course. Individuals with a background in computer science, information technology, or a related field may find it easier to grasp the course material. However, motivated learners with less experience are encouraged to engage with the material, as the course is designed to introduce and explain the key concepts of access network technologies.
