AIX System Administration - Part I is an introductory course designed to provide students with a basic understanding of AIX system administration. The course focuses on installation and maintenance of AIX systems on POWER-based hardware. It covers hardware features, system initialization and configuration, file systems, user and group administration, security and system integrity, printing, communications and more. This course is designed for system administrators new to the AIX environment.
Students will gain an understanding of the system environment, including the installation and configuration of an AIX operating system, as well as strategies for maintaining system availability and integrity. Students will learn to manage file systems, configure user profiles, administer user accounts and groups, implement security and access control, and manage printers and communications. The course also covers basic troubleshooting techniques and system resources such as problem determination aids and other support tools.
