There are five different lifestyle stages of ITIL: 1. Service Strategy - This stage forms the basis of a company’s ITSM framework and determines the services that the organisation will offer and the capabilities that need to be developed. 2. Service Design - During this stage, the organisations plan and design their IT strategies, making improvements in the existing ones. 3. Service Transition - The organisations design, test and implement their new designs during this stage. Ensuring that the issues are rectified as soon as they arise, organisations can avoid any kind of disruption in their services. 4. Service Operation - Services are put into a live environment after they are tested and validated. 5. Continual Service Improvement - Any service requires continuous improvement. This stage advices organisations to identify and execute improvements in services wherever required during any of the four previous stages.
