It also serves engineering students, career changers, and professionals in energy and sustainability fields aiming to transition into the growing EV sector.
No formal degree or prior experience is required for foundational EV training. Learners should have basic knowledge of electrical concepts like voltage, current, and resistance, along with fundamental mechanical awareness. Familiarity with safety protocols such as PPE and lockout/tagout is also beneficial.
Koenig's EV training prepares learners for the SME Electric Vehicle Fundamentals (EVF) certification, which validates knowledge of EV components, safety, manufacturing, and battery systems. The exam covers topics including BMS, electric motors, charging systems, and high-voltage safety as defined in the official Body of Knowledge.
The SME Electric Vehicle Fundamentals (EVF) exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions with a passing score of 70%. Candidates are given 90 minutes to complete the exam, which must be proctored by an approved supervisor. Certification is valid for three years and requires renewal via CEUs.
The EV training program spans 40 hours and is delivered in multiple formats: live online, 1-on-1, classroom, Flexi (self-paced), and Fly-Me-A-Trainer (on-site). All formats include hands-on labs, official courseware, and guaranteed-to-run dates, allowing flexible scheduling for individuals and corporate groups.
