My name is Khalid Loutfi, I’m from The Netherlands, and I decided to take MCSE2003 and CCNA bootcamps. So my adventure in India started on the 4th of November 2007. I arrived in the international airport of New Delhi where a gently men on behalf of Koenig Solutions was waiting for me. He’s the driver, I mean a good driver. He picked me up, gave me some money (which is balanced later) in Indian rupees so that I don’t need to change money the first days, and dropped me to my hotel “Rangoli Park” in Patel Nagar.
The journey from the airport to the hotel took only 40 minutes but for me it was like hours, and I was enjoying the environment and the hectically traffic and trying to get a first impression.
On my next day 5th November 2007, one of the drivers of Koenig picked me up from the hotel and brought me to the Training center of Koenig in Moti Nagar. The office manager was there to say welcome. He is nice, hardworking, and professional office manager with good quality of service and a solution for every problem you may have. After we cleared all pre-starting procedures (payment…etc), I have been presented to my trainer for the MCSE 2003 track, My trainer started immediately with a short introduction about Koenig (which was new for me) and the course-approach, and also about house rules and additional service provided by Koenig.
In my fifth week, I started with my Cisco CCNA (5 days) training. That was easy for me, because I had a lot of experience in the network field, and also I was well trained during my MCSE training to read fast and I knew very well how to handle this. At the end I passed my CCNA exam with a high score.
In between I really enjoyed my stay in India. The people were very friendly and helpful, and it took me a few days to feel comfortable and to go with the flow. I used to have Indian meals and tried to come, step by step and as much as I could, in touch with the Indian culture. I learned a lot of friends of there. A lot of them were from different countries and were there to take training by Koenig, or were staying in India for business purposes.
I also was in touch with my Indian neighbors; they were very gently and friendly to me. Once, I caught the cold and they offered me some Indian hot-thee, which helped me to recover immediately. That was warm and left a good impression to me.
Taj Mahal in Agra, one the world heritage site and was cited by UNESCO as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". I was lucky to get the opportunity to visit it in Agra. The city Agra, comparing to New Delhi, has fresh air, fresh sunshine and fresh beautiful views especially in the Taj Mahal entourage.
Taj Mahal was very impressive, beautiful to see and unique to walk over there and get in touch with this master architecture piece. It was built under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Soon after Taj Mahal's completion, Shah Jahan was deposed and put under house arrest at nearby Agra Fort by his son Aurangzeb. Upon Shah Jahan's death, Aurangzeb buried him in the Taj Mahal next to his wife.
Knowing the dramatically story behind Taj Mahal, made me have more respect for that monument and changed my pure architectural view to a more human, love-full and dramatically view.
My trip to India was great, absolutely amazing and one of my most memorable trips. India has diverse cultures absorbing inside. Each culture has its own uniqueness, and after the trip, I got to know more about them, understand and tolerate them. I do not know how long and how many details of the trip will remain in my memory, but I do know the lasting excitement and passion derived from the trip. After all, I found how had it is to describe those experiences and to describe the passion that emerged in my heart.
Leaving my new place in New Delhi was very hard for me, but there was no alternative. I would stay longer if could, to get all my knowledge & experience stamped by getting certified. On the 4th December, I ran the whole day to say everyone goodbye and shake hands. At the end of the day, Koenig’s driver picked me up and dropped me at the international airport of New Delhi. After checking in, my flight departed to Amsterdam - The Netherlands. Goodbye India.
The return flight was very pleasant, and I met the former president of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam. He is a big scientist and author and was the president from 2002 until July 2007. He was setting in the business-class and was surrounded with his bodyguards, but I successfully managed to talk to him and make a picture with him. He's a nice old-aged man.
After being back to work for about several weeks, I really begin to realize how incredible my trip in India was, how much passion and excitement it has aroused in my heart. The Indians are such kind, warm and helpful people.
Now, I’m back home and back to the normal routine. I continued my career as a Security Consultant at a large corporate company. I enjoy my work and look forward to go back to India as soon as I can. So I will definitely be back my incredible India! |
