I took the fast track MCSE 2003 training at Koenig, Goa, in November 2008.
I found out about the courses run by Koenig through a work colleague who had attended a course there about a year ago. Thinking that it would be nice to visit Goa, as well as getting MCSE qualified, I sent an email to the company asking them various questions. I received a very full and comprehensive reply by the next day, which was very impressive and reassuring. As I progressed with booking the course, I was given advice on getting my Indian Visa, contact details in case my flight was delayed and a very comprehensive pack-up containing hints and tips of things to bring with you, places to go and visit, amongst many other things. I was also emailed a photograph of the shop where I would be met by the driver, which gives you peace of mind that you are in the right place!
Once I arrived in Goa, I was met by one of the drivers who took me to my hotel. He handed me an envelope containing a welcome note, transport times and some Rupees. I stayed at the Hotel, which is a 2 star hotel. My stay there was very enjoyable; the rooms are air conditioned, with on suite bathrooms and very clean. The staff were all extremely polite and courteous, and the hotel is set in an idyllic location where you can sit and watch the sun go down over the Arabian Sea. The only down side of the hotel is that it is a few miles outside of the City of Panjim, but then taxi’s are extremely cheap!
The daily trips from the hotel to the training centre and back are very well organized, as is everything else to do with Koenig. Throughout the 3 ½ weeks I found all of the staff to be very helpful and accommodating, even with matters that did not directly concern them, which is appreciated. My instructor's English was excellent and I had no problems trying to understand what she was saying, which is always a concern when going to a different country. She would use the white board to explain different scenarios which helped me to understand the topics to a greater depth of knowledge. Her constant checks of my understanding certainly kept me on my toes and also kept me firmly awake.
The fast track courses are very intense, so be prepared to be busy both during the day and in the evenings. If you want to see the sights of India, it is worth either arriving early or staying for a few days once the course has finished.
All in all, I have had a wonderful time in Goa. I have always felt safe and secure with no concerns or worries. Koenig definitely look after their students and I would have no hesitation in recommending their training to anyone else.
