Culture & History

Goa was under Portuguese rule for over 4 centuries. Vasco Da Gama, the great Portuguese sea captain, arrived just south of Goa in 1498. The Portuguese influence remains strong there, even though it is now an Indian state. Goa is synonymous with heavenly beaches, delectable sea food and fun culture as well as known for its magnificent churches and forts.
