Course Prerequisites
  • Any student with limited BIG-IP administration and configuration experience.
  • A common network technology knowledge in: Routing and switching, Ethernet and ARP, LAN vs WAN, Network firewalls, OSI model encapsulation, IP addressing and subnetting.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to accomplish:

  • How to get started with the BIG-IP system
  • Traffic processing with BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
  • Knowing the usages of the TMSH (TMOS Shell) command line interface
  • How to use NATs and SNATs
  • To monitor application health and managing object status
  • Modifying the traffic behavior with profiles, including SSL offload and re-encryption
  • Knowing on how to modify the traffic behavior with persistence, including source address affinity and cookie persistence
  • Knowledge to troubleshoot the BIG-IP system, including logging (local, high-speed, and legacy remote logging), and using tcpdump
