CCNP Security certification proves your skills with security solutions.

The new CCNP Security certification program gives you broader range of skills and deeper focus in Security technology areas. The certification covers core technologies with an enterprise focus area of your choice. Candidates must pass two exams to be CCNP Security Certified. First, you must pass a core exam, covering security technologies and one security concentration exam technologies.

For each exam you pass within the CCNP Security program, you will earn a Specialist Certification.

To earn CCNP Security, you have to pass two exams:  Core exam, and Concentration exam of your choice.

Step 1: For Core exam, pass the below recommended training and exam:

  • Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies (Exam 350-701 SCOR)

Step 2: For Concentration exam, pass ANY ONE of the below recommended training and exam:

  • Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower Next Generation Firewall & Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System (Exam 300-710 SNCF)
  • Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine (Exam 300-715 SISE)
  • Securing Email with Cisco Email Security Appliance (Exam 300-720 SESA)
  • Securing the Web with Cisco Web Security Appliance (Exam 300-725 SWSA)
  • Implementing Secure Solutions with Virtual Private Networks (Exam 300-730 SVPN)

Course Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for CCNP Security, but you should have a good understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.

CCNP candidates often also have three to five years of experience implementing security solutions.

 

CCNP Security Core Exam

350-701 SCOR: Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies

The Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies v1.0 (SCOR 350-701) exam is a 120-minute exam associated with the CCNP Security, Cisco Certified Specialist - Security Core, and CCIE Security certifications. This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of implementing and operating core security technologies including network security, cloud security, content security, endpoint protection and detection, secure network access, visibility and enforcements. The course, Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies, helps candidates prepare for this exam.

300-710 SNCF: Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower

The Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower v1.0 (SNCF 300-710) exam is a 90-minute exam associated with the CCNP Security, and Cisco Certified Specialist - Network Security Firepower certifications. This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of Cisco Firepower® Threat Defense and Firepower®, including policy configurations, integrations, deployments, management and troubleshooting. These courses, Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower, and Securing Network with Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System help candidates prepare for this exam.

 

300-715 SISE: Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine

The Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine v1.0 (SISE 300-715) exam is a 90-minute exam associated with the CCNP Security, and Cisco Certified Specialist - Security Identity Management Implementation certifications. This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of Cisco Identify Services Engine, including architecture and deployment, policy enforcement, Web Auth and guest services, profiler, BYOD, endpoint compliance, and network access device administration. 300-720 SESA: Securing Email with Cisco Email Security Appliance

The Securing Email with Cisco Email Security Appliance v1.0 (SESA 300-720) exam is a 90-minute exam associated with the CCNP Security, and Cisco Certified Specialist - Email Content Security certifications.
