In information technology, high availability refers to a system or component that is continuously operational for a desirably long period of time. Availability can be measured relative to '100 percent operational'. High availability is achieved by a combination of hardware redundancy, fail-over systems and policies.
Uninterrupted access to the Databases is quite critical for most of the organizations these days. There are different High Availability options available in SQL Server 2005 like: Replication, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping and Clustering.
This course focuses on Clustering. After doing this course students will be able to understand the basics of clustering. They will be doing Hands-on on practical implementation of Clustering, installing SQL Server on a clustered environment, failover etc.
