I managed to stay for a week and found that I couldn’t concentrate and missed the hustle and bustle of New Delhi. I’d have to say it’s a perfect location for studying with the mountainous views and cool quiet atmosphere but for me – too quiet. I found myself feeling a little uncomfortable. When I informed my instructor about my concerns, they made arrangements for me to return to Delhi without any delay...
Since I left the Force in 2007 I’d been involved in the IT Industry starting from basic desktop support to server and network support. I have considered gaining my certification for the past 3 years but due to work and time constraints I found it difficult to make the necessary commitment and time to attend a training course. During a conversation with a fellow colleague, he suggested Koenig Solutions for my training as he had previously attended a course. After trawling through the internet looking for alternatives, I realised that the price couldn’t be beaten anywhere in the UK. I decided to take the plunge and contacted Koenig.
The application process was straight forward and after I got 4 weeks of leave from my employer, I’d made my journey to India for the first time. After a long flight and an unpleasant stopover, the reception at the airport was very welcoming – even though I was handed my first book before entering the car which came as a bit of a surprise.
I enjoyed my introduction to India – the drivers are crazy (Wacky Races springs to mind) but the Koenig drivers are well versed with the local traffic and made the journey bit more interesting. The Koenig training centre was well equipped and my MCSE 2003 instructor was very knowledgeable in the subject area as well as in the practical application. All my questions and concerns were explained thoroughly and directly related to the real world scenario. I’d opted for the fast track but was pleasantly surprised to receive 1-on-1 training. It was great as the instructor focused upon my weaknesses and cleared any uncertainties I had. She helped me along and as a result, I’d passed all 7 MCSE exams on my first attempt mostly with high scores which again exceeded my expectation.
During my stay I was offered a change of scenery by continuing my last 2 weeks training in Koenig Shimla, a beautiful serene location in the Himalayan Mountains. When I informed my instructor about my concerns, they made arrangements for me to return to Delhi without any delay. I was even put back into the Koenig Student Apartment (Delhi) I’d originally stayed in (which was great).
I was also fortunate to experience the Diwali celebrations whilst staying in New Delhi. Koenig Solutions arranged a party on the rooftop of the training centre for all the students and instructors. It was great as they made it possible to meet other fellow students and instructors and in the process, I’d managed to make a lot of new friends and some good contacts.
Overall I had a great experience and learned more than expected and looking forward to put my new gained knowledge to use upon my return to the UK.
I’d like to thank Koenig Solutions and especially my instructor for her help and for making my first trip to India a memorable one – I’m looking forward to experience the same again in the near future.
Overall a great team and a great organisation, I’d highly recommend it.
