I learned about Koenig Solutions through Google. The Koenig site showed several information like training centre venues, courses on offer, dates, accommodations, duration and cost. Included were the various testimonials from students from across the world. Thus my decision was made based on the Koenig site information which impressed me.
Initial communication was made with Koenig. Koenig allocated one of their sales officers who responded to all my queries from fees, visas, etc. Eventually the decision was taken.
Having decided to go to a foreign land to attend this training was a decision which I did not take lightly.
The time and cost involved was of paramount consideration. However with all the testimonies available, the decision was confidently made.
Arrival on 17 January went well with a Koenig personnel waiting for me with the usual banner with my name. Reached the Koenig Inn Deluxe at 10 in the evening. Requested for a hot meal which was perfectly served promptly. My first taste of an Indian meal prepared in India (not in Sydney). It was authentic stuff. My plan was to be in Delhi 3 days early, with the intention to be a tourist for 3 days and then a student for the next 6 days, which worked out great. There is a saying about, shooting 2 birds with one stone and this was the objective and it worked like a charm. I did not wish to be in a course for 6 days wondering about the world famous 7th wonder of the world, the Taj Mahal. I have dreamed of viewing this monument for ages. Now I am actually here!!
Tourist days completed, it was time to put on my student hat. My first day of Java Persistence with Hibernate training went well. was advised by some students already attending other courses that I can request for a change of trainer should it turn out that my teacher failed to meet my standard. Well, I gave my instructor just 2 hours to impress me and indeed he passed with flying colors. The rest is history. At the end of the course I have presented him with a perfect score of 10 out of 10 and conveyed this assessment in the instructor’s rating sheet.
The class is focused with practically a regular course becoming a one-on-one class setup. In some cases it is a 2 or 3 students per class scenario, which means all your questions are answered with examples that actually executes successfully and displaying the expected outcome right before your eyes. And in my case, I can use the examples as a template in my future work of developing or converting my older version web application site into a Hibernate enabled site.
In this IT industry, you never stop learning and always have to stay ahead of the pack, with outsourcing in Sydney the norm. Each week, personnel from major overseas outsourcing companies are arriving in droves in Sydney and other Australian cities. In many situations experienced resident staffs have to train the outsourcing people who will replace them.
Having stated the above, the next plan is to hopefully return for the Spring course, but that will be another story...with my stay in Incredible India!!!
