My experience at Koenig Solutions in Goa definitely exceeded my expectations. I found all the staff and trainers to be friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. I took a Multiple Certification path that included Master CIW Designer, MCTS Web Developer and MCTS SQL 2005 on the regular track.
There were quite a few problems with the network when I initially arrived - which had a significant impact on accessing the CIW resources (which you had to access online). My trainer did a great job of making the most of the time when we couldn't access the course materials by taking me through basic lessons in C# and SQL to prepare me for the next courses. (I understand the network issues have now been resolved).
As a newcomer to Microsoft and to all programming languages, my .NET trainer did a truly remarkable job in getting me to both understand the .NET Framework and quite a bit of C#. From the outset, he spent time getting to understand what I wanted to get from the course and really focused our time in ensuring we were meeting my objectives.
My final trainer managed to make SQL Server 2005 understandable and interesting. He had an uncanny ability to realize when my attention started to wander - keeping me on my toes with questions about previous topics, and making sure I understood the concepts.
I was very pleased with my training at Koenig and would recommend them - and the training centre at Goa. Having read other reviews before I registered, I expected things like occasional power outages and fit-for-purpose facilities - but I was surprised by the level of knowledge and skills of my trainers. It was clear that my trainers wanted me to learn and to understand as much as possible - not just pass the exams.
I spent the vast majority of my 8 weeks studying but made time for fun. The other students were great and we managed to have a few days (and nights!) out... I was also there for India's Republic Day, the Goan Carnival and Holi, so I learned a lot about Indian and Goan culture too - a big bonus.
I stayed in the Fidalgo, which was fine, but if I came over again, I would definitely go for staying in one of the Service Apartments - it would have saved me money, been more social and the one I saw about a two minute walk from the training centre was very good quality and a ten minute walk to the town and market.
(Important note: I was fortunate to have one-to-one training at each stage, although I signed up for basic regular track - if other students would have been on the same track with me, my experience may not have been as personal and customized.)
